#SAYNO2RACISM!
Racism was always a targeted for African Americans and the fact that white people discriminate against them because they see them as a threat to their lives, treating them wrong and being unequal to them. Racism has been a part of many different situations such as in schools and communities since the 1940s.
Racism is all over the world and it is a struggle for African Americans, so they will do anything in order to live a “good” life during that time. Racism is a problem by the way it is affecting black people’s lifestyles. Racism changed the way many African Americans lived because they were being harassed everywhere they go because of their skin color. Many African Americans would pass as "white" because they had the lighter skin than others.
1940s were the years were African Americans struggled the most with segregation, racism, and discrimination. This was all a part of many public places such as stores, schools and communities. Many of these problems happened because of the Supreme Court they passed laws about segregation. Segregation was harsh at schools because African Americans were the center of attention meaning their one and only target. Racism comes into this situation because they wanted to separate whites from blacks because of their skin color. The Supreme Court had to deal with a case were even the education of African Americans was a target so they had to deal with that in 1944. “Brown v. Board”, African Americans were fighting for their education, they should not be treated that way because they want to be as successful as any white person and have a good education just like white people do.
Every movement that was against segregation and colorism, made many things changed for lives of African Americans they got their voice heard and changed many things. Movements such as black lives matter, jim crow protests and activists such as Marther Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.
Racism also happens within gender mostly public places. During the 1940s gender roles was a huge important thing because men and women had different roles. African Americans were treated poorly because they were dark skin and meant little for white people. White people looking down upon African Americans thinking they are threats and would be a danger around them when they were just humans also.
Men will do the hard work which is work in the farms and in white people’s property while the women would stay back and take care of children and be the maid of white people. Many African Americans would pass as “white” because they were light skin colored. Many of them were living a lie but had to provide for their families. Value the fact that their skin color determined certain things such as if you had dark skin you would do labor and if you were light skinned then you would suit up be educated.
When mentioning the racism in schools and how African Americans were treated during those times based on their skin color and yet you see how brave they are. African Americans having to deal this harassment, discrimination, and racism they still just wanted to get an education for themselves and be just like the white privileged people. Racism was happening all around the world, and yet African Americans being disrespected, treated poorly, and being harassed because of the color of their skin. African Americans deserve to live the way the white people live because they are humans too.
African Americans were the target which made many light skin blacks pass as “white” which means they got treated good and live a happy life with their families and provided for them. Racism was everywhere in this world but changes were made because of movements and improved the lives of African Americans and gained the respected needed and made it right for them to be treated equally as others.
Places such as schools, stores, and communities impacted many people especially targeting African Americans because it would affect the way they would live with fear. African Americans having to be someone or something they are not just so they can feel accepted by the white privileged people.
African Americans were treated poorly because of their color of skin and because they were looked down upon. Many stores had signs with negativity written on them or public places such as bathrooms and restaurants but ever since the “Brown v. Board” case everything changed so it was legal to establish white‐only and colored‐only versions of public venues and institutions. African Americans made their voice heard ending every segregation law, the jim crow, and discrimination decreased around them. Every movement that was against segregation and colorism, made many things changed for lives of African Americans they got their voice heard and changed many things.
